Progressives FEAR Tea Party

The sordid picture painted by the liberal democrats and media of Tea party citizens as crazed, right wing, radical extremists has offended most Americans who advocate the ideals and principles of the Republic. This labeling as extremists -- of ordinary Americans who work, raise their families, and pay their taxes -- has only one name: FEAR. What are they afraid of?

One reason for that FEAR is Tea party citizens are not an organized political party with representation by top leaders. Liberals don’t quite know who to point their flames at so they condemn the Tea party citizens as a whole. Tea party citizens are present everywhere amongst the crowds and in every small hamlet across America. So their foolish barbs end up insulting half the population every time they open their mouths.

The recent shooting in Tuscon brought that FEAR to the fore with “hate speech” regurgitated by both the liberal media and the democrats. Where did these people full of FEAR place the blame for this psychotic event by an out-of-control man? Squarely on the Tea Party -- by pointing to those who support “We the People” or just plain Americans. Does Rush Limbaugh or Sarah Palin or Glen Beck advocate murder? Not at all. They’re just conservatives out there on the front lines just like the rest of us citizens.

Now we have some FEAR-filled people, such as Rep. Clyburn (D-SC), calling for a clamp-down on “hate speech.” But he’s not pointing to his own liberal side of the house who produced most of the accusations. No, just the talk-radio/Fox news crowd and any other “Conservative” talking-writing crowd. You, me and more than half the population of the United States. As Pres. Obama said, we should just “shut up.” Just get with the “socialist program.”

Intimidation from their own FEAR.

Republicans, Democrats and media pundits have usually asserted one of the following reasons for the midterm election results: Repeal ObamaCare, Stop spending, Cut government spending, Cut Budgets, Cut Government, Cut National Debt, etc.

In reality, Tea Party citizens believe all the above are required before our nation will be on an even keel.

I would add “cut back on the bills enacting regulations.” According to Bloomberg (

): The 111th Congress made more law affecting more Americans since the “Great Society” legislation of the 1960s. Government departments have much more regulatory power under Pres. Obama affecting all of us in one way or another.

Think about this: In 2010, federal bureaucrats added another 80,000 pages of brand new rules affecting somebody or some business in complying with federal bureaucratic

regulations. Most of the regulations passed by Congress and department agencies would fail the constitutional test. Is it any wonder businesses have become cautious in borrowing, expanding and hiring workers?

We are the eyes and ears

We Tea party citizens have not retreated into our old shells of silence and hibernation. We are watching. We’re into preservation of principles. We’re learning what our liberal school system failed to teach us -- the Constitution and what the founders actually intended. We’re looking at how our government has moved beyond the foundational principles of good governance. We know we can’t get rid of the social programs (social security, medicare, welfare) but we can attempt to shrink them and cut the hemorrhaging.

The Tea party is made up of citizens of all stripes under the umbrella the U.S. Constitution and the Law of the land. Most of us believe we must preserve the principles which have guided this nation to the pinnacle of freedom and liberty.

We are also learning that freedom and liberty are balanced by responsibility and limitations; without morality and civility, there is no freedom and liberty. (article coming on freedom, liberty and civility)

Historian Russell Kirk wrote what could be the Tea Party citizens’ mantra, “The American Cause is the defense of the principles of a true civilization. This defense is conducted by renewing people’s consciousness of true moral and political and economic principle, and by applying true principle to the institutions of social and private life.”

Those who throw immoral and corrupt barbs at us FEAR losing what they have gained over decades -- control plus power. These ideologues have promised a “salvation in this world” they can never fulfill. We have to commit for the long term. We will spend the next 10, 20 and 50 years, if that’s what it takes, to streamline our government and return to constitutional governance.
