Pot, Kettle, Hypocrisy:
Harrisburg NAACP Calls for Suspension of Civil Liberties
by: ty mccauslin, m.s. | published: 07 15, 2009
As the result of a dirty dozen of probable drug-related, gang-banger shootings throughout June 2009, the Harrisburg Chapter of the NAACP is calling on Pennsylvania Governor Edward “G. is for Gun-Grabbing” Rendell to impose martial law by bringing in the state National Guard for at least 30 days and implementing a curfew.
Relying on the most foolproof scientific reasoning since if it doesn’t fit you must acquit, member and attorney Stanley Mitchell confirmed that the organization is requesting a short suspension of “some” civil rights because, “We have the civil rights not to be shot.”
Chapter President Stanley Lawson added, “The Guard is for floods and natural disasters. I don’t know any more of a natural disaster than of our young people being people killed. It is time for some real action. Right now, the important thing is to stop the madness.”
Be Careful What You Wish For...
Ironically, Lawson also stated that there was historical precedent for the Guard to step in, citing the martial law actions taken during the race riots in 1968 following the assassination of the Reverend Martin Luther King in Memphis, Tennessee.
One major fact, Lawson failed to recall during his hastily prepared revisionist history lesson was the other corresponding real action initiated by the U.S. government to stop the madness that was sweeping the nation more than 40 years ago: the federal Gun Control Act of 1968.
Surprisingly in 1973, Nation magazine contributor and gun-banning advocate, Robert Sherill came to the startling realization, that much like the Nazi Weapons of Law of 1938 which paved the way for the Jewish Holocaust, this ineffective and overkill gun control legislation was specifically designed to disarm card-carrying NAACP members and all other African-Americans:
“The Gun Control Act of 1968 was passed not to control guns, but to control blacks...”
Even more recently, General Laney, founder of the National Black Sportsman’s Association
had this to say about the unavoidably racist aspects of gun control:
“Gun control is really race control. People who embrace gun control are really racist in nature. All gun laws have been enacted to control certain classes of people, mainly black people, but the same laws used to control blacks are being used to disarm white people as well.”
As repeatedly demonstrated throughout American history beginning with the Revolutionary War battles to defend the patriot arsenals at Lexington and Concord, the right to keep and bear arms as provided by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution is every law-abiding citizens last safeguard against tyranny— by government and the 21st Century street corner, drive-by variety.
While on the other hand, as demonstrated in places such as Columbine, Colorado, Virginia Tech University and countless other gun free zones around the globe, gun confiscation under martial law, one-gun-a–month rationing, and mandatory gun registration openly discriminates against every innocent member of the human race by leaving them disarmed and defenseless against gun-wielding street thugs and other psychopaths who obtain their weapons for mass destruction illegally.
Have It Your Way: Natural Law or Natural Born Killers?
In the opening chapter of the The Conservative Mind: From Burke to Elliot, legendary conservative scholar Russell Kirk summarized natural law as a “transcendent order, which rules society as well as conscience. Political problems, at the bottom, are religious and moral problems. True politics is the art of apprehending and applying the Justice which ought to prevail in a community of souls.”
What is the root of this chaos, and more importantly, the proper solution for the recent wave of violent shootings, illegal drugs, robberies and neighborhood turf wars that have draped a crimson bulls-eye over inner city Harrisburg?
Is it merely “Fear,” as Lawson, suggests, where young African-American men, due to their “urban jungle” habitat, have no other option but to instinctively conclude, I’m going to get them before they get me?
Or do these lethal consequences result from something much more painfully obvious, but rarely spoken, such as the following statistically documented violations of natural law that continue to plague Black America, including:
- 70 percent illegitimacy rate.
- African-American youth are 15 times more likely to join a gang and seven times more likely to commit a violent crime and be incarcerated as white youth.
- 90 percent of African-American murder victims are killed by African-Americans.
No matter how bad these truths may hurt, this is not racially-motivated hate speech, but the facts of life. Much like the national chapter, until the Harrisburg NAACP has the courage to recognize that these inescapable statistical realities combined with above national average teen pregnancy, drug use and illiteracy rates are the actual culprits that continue to rob the African-American community of liberty, the pursuit of happiness and ultimately life itself—the number of police officers, national guardsmen, government welfare programs or illegally-obtained guns on the streets is absolutely irrelevant.
The recent violence in inner city Harrisburg is the latest chapter in an ongoing human tragedy proving that every society has two unavoidable choices to make: respect natural law by defending all innocent human life in the halls of government, worship, education and, especially in the home; or risk falling prey to natural born killers who have no qualms about spilling your blood and moving on to the next victim.
