Losing The Gender Wars

homosexuals across the world gathering to express their pride

As James Madison pointed out in his famous 10th essay in The Federalist, "the primary source of danger is the propensity of men to form factions enabling a majority to oppress minorities." *

What Madison didn't count on was the tyranny of the minority. In this case, the minority of homosexuals and other sexually, well, differently orientated individuals who are well on their way towards permanently altering the 2,000 year-old tradition of family and gender roles.

Last weekend saw homosexuals across the world gathering to express their pride. (I'm not sure what they're so proud of.) Tens of thousands joined gay pride marches across Europe. Thousands marched in Jerusalem and in San Francisco, lesbians thronged to Dolores Park for their very own annual Dyke Festival and March.

The homosexual agenda is flourishing, having garnered the support of politicians, educators, various religious factions and of course, the media. In covering the gay marches in Europe, Brietbart reported, 'Gay pride marches in Europe marred by homophobia.' Dissenters were cavalierly described as extremists and right-wingers. So now its official. If you don't actively endorse this alternative lifestyle, you're automatically labeled homophobic. The voices of those who have moral or societal objections to homosexuality have been rendered moot.

Government schools are and have been, thoroughly indoctrinating young students into the belief that homosexuality is now merely a lifestyle option. That gender is optional. In one Massachusetts school, officials scrambled to accommodate a 13 year-old who decided he wanted to be a girl.

A state funded organization in Maine is touting a seminar that essentially teaches kids how to be homosexual. And government schools across the country recently celebrated the annual 'Day of Silence,' sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education network (GLSEN). Meanwhile, 3rd graders are treated to the video 'Heather Has Two Mommies'.

In New York juvenile detention centers, a new policy allows confused sensitive youths to wear girls clothing and be called by feminine names. They can even opt for special housing if other youths discriminate against them as they prance around in skirts and make-up.

A doctor at the renown Children's Hospital Boston has launched a new program to drug children to delay puberty so they can decide which gender they want to be. That's right. Gender is now considered optional.

Our elected officials, who are so concerned with 'the children,' are actively supporting this dangerous lifestyle. Two openly gay members of Congress got 50 of their colleagues to officially join them in promoting the homosexual agenda in Congress. We now have a House Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Caucus.

Meanwhile, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has appointed a director for his new Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender voter outreach program. His wife Michelle is making waves and getting standing ovations from gay groups as she promises them her husband's complete support.

Across the pond, UK lesbian mothers recently won landmark parental rights as MP's voted to remove the requirement that fertility clinics consider a child's need for a father. Translation: fathers are no longer needed.

In Paris, a fashion show featuring a menswear collection was a hit as they blurred the gender lines, outfitting men in lace, ruffles and make-up.

It is now accepted practice for homosexuals to be portrayed in the media in the most flattering light. Most shows feature at least one sensitive soul bravely standing up against mean homophobes. Yeah. And let's not forget the lovely commercial Heinz just launched. They portrayed two men and a young boy as a normal family unit, the two men exchanging a mouth kiss as one heads off to work. I'm still trying to figure out what men swapping spit has to do with the sale of mayonnaise.

The normalization of homosexuality and transgendered, uh, people, and the celebration of their lifestyle has gone beyond mere tolerance to the almost complete blurring of lines between male and female. With ramifications that far exceed personal choice, affecting both society and the future of our country.

This American is wondering how the rights of less than 5% of the population can so thoroughly trump the rights of the majority. Especially in light of the fact that the practice of homosexuality can be deadly to its practitioners and destructive to society.

The number of young homosexual men newly diagnosed with the deadly HIV virus is rising at the rate of 12% a year. In a Pennsylvania school district, so many cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STD) were found that the Centers For Disease Control had to step in to screen students for AIDS.

Research showing that children raised openly by homosexual parents are more likely to engage in homosexual behavior themselves is swept under the carpet. As are any and all facts that challenge the notion of homosexuality as natural and normal.

The gay lobby has succeeded in redefining marriage. Now, instead of a social compact designed to foster children and family units for the good of the country, its meaning has been expanded to include, well, any combination of individuals at whim. This essentially marginalizes the institution of marriage, and the institution of family, which have served as the backbones of our country since its inception.

As Shmuley Boteach points out in Disappearing Babies, "Never before in history has civilization skewed more away from the needs of the community and toward the aggrandizement of the individual."

At risk is not only the disintigration of the family but the forced coercion of millions of Americans whose valid objections are completely ignored. Allowing a miniscule portion of our population to set the agenda for the rest of the country is just not right.
