Wait a Sec, Racism Not Quite Dead
Obama's Election Doesn't Mean Racist Baiters Out of Business

As I tried to tell people who said Obama's election, the election of a black man, finally means America has progressed beyond racism, it's only the first step. Rush reported this today.
Charlie Steele, the president, CEO, of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, said the civil rights fight isn't over, he said wait a second, no black woman has been President yet.
So after we take the next step in electing a black woman, then we still have to elect a Hispanic man, Hispanic woman, Asian man, Asian woman, gay man, gay woman, American Indian man, American Indian woman, little people of both genders, etc. then we still have transgendered people who haven't been elected, and they'll have to be of various races, and on and on through every race, gender and belief until finally we're no longer biased.
Then we have the cab situation. According to a prominent black reverend, Reverend Eugene Rivers, he couldn't get a cab because he's black.
"I couldn't get one last night. I couldn't get one -- I was -- I was trying to get something for my wife last night, and it was so funny, I'm sitting there in that little -- that little -- little real yuppie area, and so I wanted to pick up some food, and I'm standing there, and these two very -- you know, four little young white girls come by, you know, and I'm standing there like for a half hour just freezing, like three o'clock in the morning, right? And that cab just rolled right by me, right? The little white girls were like ten feet ahead, and that cab driver took the four white girls to Arlington, Virginia."
Two notes for the Reverend. #1, have you ever heard of takeout, or call a cab from the hotel and keep them on the clock? #2, if I, a strapping young 42 year old male, were waiting for a cab and saw four young ladies of any color or any creed standing in the cold, I'd insist the cab take them before me even if it did stop for me instead of them. I might even lend one of them my coat if they looked cold. I'm not even a man of God like the Reverend.
Does the Reverend know how the cab driver knew he was there before the four young ladies? Does the Reverend think maybe the driver decided to pick up four young ladies instead of one middle aged man because of basic manners instead of race? Did the Reverend consider picking up his cell phone to call a cab, then wait inside for it to arrive?
Bottom line, I was on the money when I said the racists who find history in Obama because of his skin color won't stop their rhetoric just because a black man becomes President. In their minds if a white male ever again becomes President it's proof America has fallen back into the pit of slavery.
