Election Theft: Try, Try Again

ACORN may be the tip of the iceberg, but what lurks beneath sinks ships.

George W. Bush's presidential approval rating is nearing the all-time low. Partially because of his performance, and also due to the almost immediate barrage of leftist hate directed at him since the day he took office in 2001.

Remember, it was not because he won the 2000 election against Al Gore. It was because he "stole" it. I contend George W. Bush didn't steal the election, but because liberal groups like ACORN didn't work hard enough to steal it for Gore.

It would appear ACORN has re-doubled its efforts.

The non-profit is accused of submitting fraudulent voter registration applications in 13 states this election cycle. Seven of those states have already launched investigations into ACORN’s activities.

While independent investigations and recounts found that Bush DID indeed defeat Gore in 2000 (despite the media's Pensacola Effect), can you imagine the hell that would have been raised by the left and its media if a conservative group had ACORN's resume?

The media, in their glee to call Florida for Al Gore, forgot one minor detail. Florida is in two time zones and the Pensacola panhandle had yet to close their polling places. The media had to retract their call for Gore, but the damage had been done.

As Florida was the critical state, it's "loss" demoralized the Republican base in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones. Phone banks shut down, buses to get voters to the polls ceased. By the time the media gave their empty apologies, some volunteers found themselves locked out of phone centers and others called it a night and couldn't be reached in time to resume their efforts.

If not for the media's assistance, the 2000 election outcome would not have been as close as it was.

Cheating, be it in Chicago, our classrooms, or newsrooms, has always been a tactic of the left. ACORN's problem is that they've been brazen, arrogant, and extremely sloppy. But as they can play the race "voter disenfranchisement" card to a media that will recite it, they will only truly be investigated once the damage has been done and the election is over.

And despite those allegations and investigations, should Barack Obama (on whose behalf ACORN is cheating) win the presidential election, will the left scream it was "stolen"?  Will we hear the accusations of "voter disenfranchisement" or "selected, not elected"?

Obviously not.

The "by any means necessary" spoiled brat 60's radicals who have mobilized our kids against the American election process, and infect the media, will use every means at their disposal to affect the outcome of this race. Cheating is their means to an end. Should Barack Obama squeeze into the Oval Office, don't expect the right to put their tails between their legs and succumb to the "New Tone" George W. Bush had spat back in his face.

Conservatives and Republicans will not forget. Those who may succeed this time in stealing an election will have awoken a sleeping giant. Every triumph by an Obama administration will be scrutinized and minimized. Every misstep will be magnified, and every attempt his administration makes to silence dissent will be met with push back redefined.
