Obama's Spill Disaster -- Cap & Trade

There is a disaster in the gulf.

It is large, unpredictable and there seems to be no end in sight.

There is another disaster in America - it surrounds the people sitting in our White House and there seems to be no end in sight to their push for disastrous policies that will harm, not help, our country.

Tuesday night the President of the United States addressed our nation.  He used the terrible tragedy in the gulf for a verbal backdrop as he pushed again for a national Energy Tax.

Obama's Cap-and-Trade energy scheme will hurt America's energy independence, raise energy prices for every American - our utility bills, our stops at the gas station - and send our nation down the wrong path.

Cap-and-Trade is wrong for our nation's energy policy, it is wrong for energy independence and it is wrong for national security that comes from energy independence.  The President shows no interest in ending his push for this policy and we cannot stop in our efforts to fight back.

He is preparing to ask Congress to try to pass it again... and we need to ask them - especially our allies in the Senate - to stop it.

TELL CONGRESS TO OPPOSE OBAMA'S CAP AND TRADE ENERGY TAX SCHEMES.  WE NEED ENERGY INDEPENDENCE NOT HIGHER ENERGY PRICES IN AMERICA.

While we were paying at, near or over $4.00 a gallon for gasoline, can you imagine if this policy were in place?  How much would we have been paying for fuel?

ACU'S Director of Government Relations Larry Hart already wrote to you about Obama Administration actions trying to force any American small business that "emits" a greenhouse gas including department stores, office buildings, apartment complexes, small manufacturers, and hospitals to have a government permit.  More government regulations, more paperwork, more cost, and more "big brother."  Larry warned that Obama is now trying to use the EPA to sidestep Congress and push his agenda.

We need Congress to step up to the plate and stop him at every turn before it is too late.

TELL CONGRESS TO OPPOSE OBAMA'S CAP AND TRADE ENERGY TAX SCHEMES.  WE NEED ENERGY INDEPENDENCE NOT HIGHER ENERGY PRICES IN AMERICA.

A national Energy Tax resulting from Obama's Cap-and-Trade policies will be passed on to the consumer in an average increase in utility bills of $1600 per year.  At a time when we are faced with economic uncertainty, we do not need another fee passed on to the hard working taxpayers of this country.

A Cap-and-Trade system will devastate the free market here in the United States by allowing the government to regulate the flow of commerce at an unprecedented level.

And this scheme will have little effect on overall pollution within the United States, as those that have emissions will have the opportunity to just sell their carbon credits to those companies that have a greater pollution risk - and then those costs get passed onto us, the consumer.

TELL CONGRESS TO OPPOSE OBAMA'S CAP AND TRADE ENERGY TAX SCHEMES.  WE NEED ENERGY INDEPENDENCE NOT HIGHER ENERGY PRICES IN AMERICA.

What our nation needs is greater flexibility to produce energy and reduce our dependence on foreign oil and energy not more regulation.

When will Washington learn that energy independence is what will allow our nation to grow stronger and provide for greater safety and security?

The only way they will learn is if they hear from the American people and we tell them what we want in calls, petitions and when we see our lawmakers visiting our towns and cities back home.

The liberals are bombarding Congress with messages.  Let's fight back.
