Obama's fiscal policy chickens have come home to roost.

Stories in newspapers across America this week note that the Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke - whom Obama recently re-nominated for his post - made a unusual and startling statement for a person in his position.

Bernanke said, "unless we as a nation demonstrate a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility, in the longer run we will have neither fiscal stability nor healthy economic growth."

In other words can can't keep spending and spending. We cannot keep printing money with no end in sight.

It is a fiscal alarm we have been sounding. Now we need to sound it even louder as Congress reacts to this news.

Conservative members of Congress have practically been a voice in the wilderness trying to hold back the liberal's spending. They have scored some victories. Now with this statement by Bernanke, new focus will be put on these efforts.

Congressmen like Paul Ryan have been fighting the impending doom from by increased entitlement spending.

Others have noted that our country cannot keep taxing and spending.

Yet the liberals have spent like drunken sailors. Now we need to shine a light on their activities.

Our largest concern may be for what Obama will do with this information.

NEWSMAX.com and other outlets have reported that Obama's economic advisor Paul Volcker told a New York Historical Society audience just this week that, "The United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax."

A VAT - or Value Added Tax - as FOXNews reported would tax everything you use everyday with layer upon layer of taxes. That's right - it taxes everything you use in layers. It would be used to pass a massive tax increase on the lower, middle and upper income tax brackets - on everyone.

Obama has made our nation look more and more like liberal nations in Europe - do not allow him to use these statements by Bernanke as a staging ground to introduce a VAT Tax!

Obama's massive government run health care scheme already sets up massive increases in taxes and more spending. His "stimulus plan" did not stimulate, it spent us further into debt. His budgets have already spent too much, taxed too much and borrowed too much.

Now they could use Bernanke's statements to tax even more.

Bernanke said the choice was either to cut spending or increase taxes.

We must put the pressure on now that Congress needs to cut spending, not increase taxes or pass a VAT tax scheme.
