New Deadline Set for Obama Health Care Votes

The majority party in Washington, D.C., has no intention of bipartisanship

Last week conservative Congresswoman Michele Bachmann told Sean Hannity that she knew all conservatives were getting tired of fighting Obama, Pelosi and Reid's plans to take over our health care economy; step by step ...piece by piece.

At ACU we are accustomed to fighting these things each and every day.  David Keene, our Board Members, Larry Hart our Director of Government Relations and our entire staff work each day for our conservative principles

However, we must come to you to ask for your help.

President Barack Obama has set a new deadline to pass his health care plans.

That new deadline is March 18th.

The Associated Press reported "Under a new push to get the measure through Congress, Obama set a March 18 deadline for the House to pass the Senate version of the legislation before he leaves on a trip to Asia."

So they have shifted tactics yet again.  As we throw up roadblocks to their liberal plans to expand government, massively expand spending and increase the amount of red tape between you and your doctor they take another route to get to their goal.

Therefore, we are also now shifting strategies to target the House, rather than the Senate.

We need to speak up with a loud voice and say NO to this latest bill.  How do we get another August Town Hall Meeting / Tea Party rally type of response?
We come to you.

Help us fight back and speak out now!

When you sign the petition we are also going to ask you to call your House members.

Recently our new ACU ratings of Congress, based on their 2009 votes, became public.  The ratings are up on our new website's ratings page.  In these ratings we have separated the wheat from the chaff as the old saying goes.

Our Ratings show who is a True Liberal - with a 0% conservative voting record.  It also shows those who are Defenders of Liberty with a 100% score.  As you sign the petition, think about how important these ratings are in this election year.

Going into this election year where the American public, and especially independent voters, are increasingly telling pollsters that they are more conservative; the Members of Congress don't want to look too liberal.  They know they will face these voters in the fall.

They are scared about what you and I think - the voters who will actually go to the polls in Novemver.  Therefore we have them on the ropes.

We need to put the pressure on as it relates to this March 18 vote.

Obama keeps setting deadline after deadline and we keep smashing it.

With your help and support we have risen up and awoken the sleeping American giant - voters who don't want too powerful of a federal government.

Somewhat moderate Democrats are concerned about what you think.  Many live in and represent conservative leaning Districts.  They are entering an election period.

Noting potential internal Democrat opposition to Obama's plans USA Today wrote: "Some oppose abortion, some are worried about premiums, and some have zeroed in on taxes."

It already clear that Obama is making a new push to arm-twist reluctant Democrats.

"A day after vowing to do 'everything in my power' to pass the $950 billion, 10-year health care package, Obama ramped up his efforts by meeting with more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers Thursday who could be key to the debate, including two who voted against a similar bill last year," that same USA Today article reported.

We need to push back.  Now.

I am quite confident you've heard by now that Obama is abandoning working with the opposition and that if they get through the House, they are likely coming back to the Senate to use what some have called the "nuclear option" to pass Health Care.

Reconciliation is the term.  This is the word defining the tactic of throwing out established Senate rules and procedure to force through the House's version of Health Care if they can get it passed there.

It doesn't matter that Senators including Barack Obama when he was in the Senate said this was not the right way to go in passing legislation.

They are going to try to do it anyway.  However, we can help stop this bill before it even makes it back to the Senate.

Republican Congressman John Kline in an Op-Ed today wrote, "As the outlines of the Democrats' health care endgame begin to emerge, one thing has become perfectly clear: The majority party in Washington, D.C., has no intention of bipartisanship."

Conservative, Doctor and Senator Tom Coburn wrote in another Op-Ed, "The argument that the president and the majority make - that health care costs too much because government hasn't spent enough or regulated enough - is absurd."

We agree.  That is why we are asking you to help us fight back.

CPAC was a great event that showed the power of people meeting and working together for a common goal.

Now we need to take the spirit of CPAC, the Tea Party events and the August Town Hall meetings and put it into action again.
