Liberals Want to Control the RNC Platform

Do you think the Republican National Convention Platform should mirror the platform of the Democrats?

Do you agree with those who say the label “moderate” or even “liberal” is better than conservative?

Do you think the RNC should appease the ultra-left special interest groups to win elections?

There are some who do.  There are some who would push the Republican National Committee toward a weak platform that appeases the liberals.

We believe that is flat out wrong.

The ACU knows the American people deserve and need a Conservative Agenda for America's Future.

That is why the ACU has been working for many weeks on a Convention Project to make your voice heard, the conservative voice, at the Republican National Convention through a Conservative Agenda.

The American people will reject liberalism, if we define it and stand up strongly for what we believe in.

That is why ACU is going to fight for our principles, with your help at the Convention.  The Convention is almost here. Platform hearings start next week and the following week the Convention itself will be underway. 

We will be there, on the ground - David A. Keene, ACU Chairman and I along with other key ACU conservatives – during the Platform hearings and the Convention in Minnesota to fight for you.

It is at the Convention where we will formally launch The Conservative Agenda for America’s Future.

This Agenda will allow us to fight for our conservative views in the Platform and at the Convention.  It will be the definitive document on conservative principles at the Convention.

We need your help today in order to put this Agenda in the hands of the members of the RNC Platform Committee and we need your input on its contents through our survey here.

You may have already heard about this special ACU project.  We have conducted two special Telephone Town Halls, one of which featured Congressman John Shadegg (R-AZ) who has agreed to serve as Chairman of our platform effort.

Through these Telephone Town Halls and your input on other recent issue petitions we have been gathering opinions on what should be in this Agenda.

All of this will be compiled for the final Conservative Agenda for America's Future document.  We will use this document to fight for your beliefs at the Convention.

If we can have your help here today through your input on our Agenda survey and with your help supporting this important project, we will be sure to get you a copy. 

The Telephone Town Halls were great and we heard from hundreds of ACU members live on the phone as thousands of others listened in.

If you have participated with ACU on recent petitions or in other ACU activities, your telephone number should have been included in these Telephone Town Hall meetings.

We would like to do more.  With your support we will be able to do more and ensure we get this Conservative Agenda into the hands that need it.

The convention will be an important time for us to express and communicate our conservative views.

There is much at stake as we enter the final months of this election season.  The convention is a key moment in the debate.  We cannot sit back and let the liberals push the RNC toward their agenda.

With your help supporting the Conservative Agenda we will make sure the conservative voice is heard.

We will try to send out regular email and video updates from the convention for those who support the project.  We believe you should have an opportunity to get the real, behind-the-scenes story, on what is happening at the convention.  David Keene and others will speak directly to what is really happening.

Some of our ACU members are actual Delegates or Alternates to the Republican National Convention.  One, who we heard from spontaneously on a Telephone Town Hall, is even a member of the platform committee.
