Hold Congress' Feet to the Fire on Obama's Health Care Plans
by: the american conservative union | published: 09 08, 2009
Some liberal politicians think they can just return to Washington - listen to the President's speech Wednesday night - and then forget about the people back home.
The liberals also think they can move some of our more conservative Members of Congress back toward their position ...to support their plans ... and ignore the will of the people back home.
We need to prove them wrong. We need to stand up now more than ever and fight back!
We need to send a message that the protests at the town halls were just the beginning and that we are still watching.
When you sign the petition we are also going to send you to the ACU ACTION CENTER so you can call your lawmakers, if you wish, as well.
Obama's Press Secretary says we all just need to calm down. He says that the President hasn't clearly outlined his goals and that we will all learn more in his speech Wednesday night.
News reports say that behind the scenes the liberal activists and politicians are just trying to re-group. They know they lost the battle in August. Now they are trying to win the war in September.
They are planning to use the President's speech Wednesday night to re-group, come back out fighting and push - just like the President did yesterday before a union crowd - for a government-run health care plan.
SIGN THE ACU PETITION HERE AND NOW. SEND A MESSAGE THAT AMERICANS REMAIN STRONGLY OPPOSED TO A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE PLAN.
The work you and I have done together through ACU is beginning to take root.
With deficits at an all time high and the debt increasing at an alarming fast pace we must continue to fight back.
In just the last few months we learned that official numbers from July show the federal government spent more money in one month than in any month in U.S. History.
Now Obama and the liberals are pushing a government health care plan that will cost $1 trillion - or more - on top of that. Who will pay for all of this?
The worst may be yet to come.
That's right ---- our debt would be more than 100% of our entire nation's GDP.
The Journal's editorial said today, "Dropping the Obama health plan would significantly reduce fiscal deficits over the next decade and help restore public confidence in the ability of Congress to control spending."
But the question is: Will Congress Listen?
Will Congress listen to reason and work not only to protect our nation's health but to protect our citizen's health by dropping the idea of a government-run plan?
We must send a message even before Obama steps up to the microphone Wednesday night.
We, the American people, remain committed to opposing more government, more spending and a health care plan that will put the government between a doctor and a patient.
