It has been a tough few months in Washington.
Obama and Nancy Pelosi, along with their liberal contingent in the House and the Senate, have been working overtime to force our nation down the path of unfettered spending, widening deficits, and more government intrusion into American's lives.
We have seen:
- Trillion Dollar stimulus plans that have left us and our children holding a bag of debt while our nation's unemployment rate hits a 25-year high.
- A push for so-called earmarks in federal budgets - funding for groups like ACORN.
- A foreign policy based on apologies and appeasement with no real accomplishments.
- An assault on basic conservative principles in every department and at all levels of our federal government.
However, one group of lawmakers has refused to tow the Obama / Pelosi liberal line. They are the U.S. Senators and U.S. House Members who have won ACU's Defender of Liberty & True Conservative Awards for outstanding voting records in Congress.
They have been fighting back and standing firm for us. We must support them.
We must let them know that you are standing behind them and the work ACU is doing everyday to fight for conservative principles. They need to know that not everyone supports Barack Obama's policies.
We recently handed out these Awards on Capitol Hill.
More than 40 of these Senators and Congressman who were Award winners agreed to appear in short videos to thank YOU for your efforts through ACU supporting their work.
The videos of support for ACU and your efforts to support our work at ACU include those from Senators Jim DeMint, Bob Corker, Jim Bunning and Lindsey Graham; Congressman Eric Cantor, the Republican Whip in the House; Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference; and Congressman Pete Sessions, Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee; who are all ACU award winners.

When Obama was elected, by only 53% of the American public, the news media rushed to declare him the choice of all Americans.
As evidence by study after study, their coverage of Obama has been relentless. The media has in large part helped drive Obama's agenda.
As even we here at ACU learned last week, the media has taken glee in trying to paint all conservatives as disorganized, dishonest and in disarray when nothing could be further from the truth.
We must fight back and let these conservative leaders know we are standing behind them.
We also must send a message that you are standing behind ACU.
There has tremendous pressure to all elected officials in Washington to just fall in line with Obama's ultra liberal policy objectives driven by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
However, these ACU Award winners, who are our conservative leaders, have stood up for the principles that will protect American taxpayers and keep our nation safe.
You have probably heard of ACU's Ratings of Congress. We have been producing the ratings guide for more than 30 years. It separates the wheat from the chaff as the old saying goes. The Ratings tell you who is really conservative and who just talks the talk but does not walk the walk. If it wasn't for you there would be no ACU website, no Ratings, no voice to support the work of these conservative leaders on Capitol Hill. Without you and your support ACU would not exist to get these jobs done.
That is why we need your continued support - even now during the summer. And, when you support ACU we need to let the leaders on the Hill know that we are standing behind them.
Recently polling has showed that Americans are waking up to the truth behind Obama's claims.
Massive liberal government spending doesn't create good, long standing jobs - it only leaves our nation in debt.
Tax cuts which spur on average Americans to spend, hire workers and grow businesses will help our nation's economy more than liberal spending schemes.
Policies that empower families, not government bureaucrats, will help build a stronger America.
Foreign policy based on peace through strength is what will guide America through this tough century.
A government takeover of the nation's healthcare system will worsen care, increase taxes and costs; not improve our nation's health.
These are fundamental truths. They are the truths that our conservative leaders on Capitol Hill are fighting for.
