Obama And A New World Order?

What defines a superpower?

“A superpower is a state with a leading position in the international system and the ability to influence events and its own interests and project power on a worldwide scale to protect those interests; it is traditionally considered to be one step higher than a great power.”

Who are the top ten superpowers today?

  1. The United States
  2. Russia
  3. The United Kingdom
  4. France
  5. China
  6. Spain
  7. Italy
  8. Canada
  9. Japan
  10. Germany

The world arena if nothing else is in a constant state of flux. Change is always occurring. Economics is the driving force. The United States has had the ball now, since the end of World War II with the former Soviet Union (Russia) coming in at a close second. The end of the great war also triggered an arms race between the US and Russia that ultimately lead to its economic collapse in the 90's. Ironically the former soviet communist super power that so reviled the democratic capitalist ways of our country adopted this as their current form of government. In the end capitalism along with a free democratic society is the only sustainable way to maintain a prosperous economic base.

Communist China or the Peoples Republic of China is fast overcoming its internal stagnation by realizing that suppression of the people, puts economic growth at a standstill. Economic reforms put into action starting in 1979, have led to a socialist market economy and have paved the way for improvements to the working class standards of living. Communism by its very definition will fail every time it is implemented. A robust free market society due to its competition based nature has been proven time and time again to be the most viable form of economic growth for a governments success in the world market. Due in part to the basic desire of human beings to be free. We as a race do not tolerate suppression very well and in the end liberty is what makes us shine.

Everywhere that communism has been tried and the peoples basic desire for freedom has been trounced upon by governmental control, that same economy eventually dries up. Marxism; that idealistic state of Utopia where everyone is supposedly equal is unobtainable, because someone will try to exert control over the people at some point in time. It is always just out of reach, right at their fingertips and yet it is a complete illusion. Freedom and liberty are the cornerstone for a successful, economically prosperous system. Without those two basic principles of humanity, all else will fail and yet everywhere one looks on this Earth, those two basic needs are constantly in jeopardy.

Our country has long-held the status as a superpower due to our inalienable rights of freedom and liberty as set forth by the founding fathers of this great nation. Not by accident, but by design. Rights guaranteed to us not by men, but by God. It is noteworthy to mention that one of the first symbols of freedom to be abolished in a Marxist society is religion. “Religion is the opiate of the people.” Those words from none other than Karl Marx himself. Get rid of that aspect and you can control the masses.

Our economic outlook at the current rate of debt that we are fast accumulating is rather grim. The CBO recently stated that our deficits are unsustainable at the present rate. Although we are not now currently in an arms race with Russia as in the past, we are none the less committing ourselves to the same fate as the former USSR, by unregulated spending and a desire for entitlement programs that far outreach our financial capabilities. The Obama administration has done far more damage to our economic superpower status, than the cold war era did to our enemy. This administration is spending us into self-destruction.

Our strategic defense is currently on the chopping block with the signing of an arms reduction agreement with Russia. China is on the move with an overly aggressive build up of its military might, with no end in sight. Muslim extremist's continue to reign terror on the free world. Iran is in the process of building a nuclear weapon and has demonstrated an ability to produce a missile that can carry a warhead. Our longtime friends in the world are being snubbed by the Obama administration, as shown with the recent treatment of Israel at the White House.

It appears that the rational of the Obama administration is to increase entitlement spending and pay for it with our national security. This is unacceptable and very dangerous in the current world arena that exists today. Is it naiveté that dominates this administration? Or something more sinister? This country is being dismantled one piece at a time. For we Americans who love our country, this is intolerable.

Liberty and freedom. The cornerstone of a democracy. The driving force of prosperity. The irony is that we are now headed in the same direction of our adversaries. If left unchecked, there will be a New World Order. The question is; who will be the leading superpower of the world in ten years?
