In the event of the evil manifested in the murderous shootings at Newtown, Connecticut by Adam Lanza, people are asking why and how this happened. These acts of violence are symptoms of the great bacteria running ramped in the body of the USA. It's called sin. If you have viewed the movie the "Matrix" you would be able to connect the dots. The movie shows the players living in the" world" but don’t suspect they are in a world "created" by aliens call the matrix. They are prevented by them to actually "see" the real world as it is.

In the reading of St. Paul's letters he states that; "we are in a battle not against flesh and blood but against "Principalities and Powers." What was St. Paul referring to? He was referring to the fallen angels sent to Hell by God in punishment for rebellion. Satan words echo throughout time, "I shall not serve." Satan was sent down and took 1/3 of the heavenly host with him. How do you battle sin and Satan? As St. Paul states you; "put on the armor of God." What does that mean?

The meaning here is:

(1) that we are not to provide in our warfare such weapons as people employ in their contests, but such as God provides; that we are to renounce the weapons which are carnal, and put on such as God has directed for the achievement of the victory.

(2) we are to put on the "whole armor." We are not to go armed partly with what God has appointed, and partly with such weapons as people use; nor are we to put on "a part" of the armor only, but the "whole" of it. A man needs "all" that armor if he is about to fight the battles of the Lord; and if he lacks "one" of the weapons which God has appointed, defeat may be the consequence.

That ye may be able to stand - The foes are so numerous and mighty, that unless clothed with the divine armor, victory will be impossible.

Satan does not carry open warfare. He does not meet the Christian soldier face to face. He advances covertly; makes his approaches in darkness; employs cunning rather than power, and seeks rather to delude and betray than to vanquish by mere force. Hence, the necessity of being constantly armed to meet him whenever the attack is made. A man who has to contend with a visible enemy, may feel safe if he only prepares to meet him in the open field. But far different is the case if the enemy is invisible; if he steals upon us slyly and stealthily; if he practices war only by ambushes and by surprises. Such is the foe that we have to contend with - and almost all the Christian struggle is a warfare against stratagems and wiles. Satan does not openly appear. He approaches us not in repulsive forms, but comes to recommend some plausible doctrine, to lay before us some temptation that shall not immediately repel us. He presents the world in an alluring aspect; invites us to pleasures that seem to be harmless, and leads us in indulgence until we have gone so far that we cannot retreat. That is what has happened to the body of the USA. It is infected with sin. Ever since the beginning when men and women dared do their own thing , become their own masters, and saying I shall not serve, sin is whole heartily invited an destroys what is in them and all around them.

We as a society have toss out God, any mention of religion, morals or absolutes, right or wrong, good and evil, virtue or vise to the trash heap. Now we are reaping the harvest. Murder in schools, abortion, pornography, sexual license, government corruption, rapid drug abuse, child abuse, sexual abuse, elderly abuse, break down of families, single parents. More gun laws won't work, more security won't work, blaming the parties won't work. Blaming the bad economy won't work.

Obama at the Newtown vigil says "US will have to change." The USA doesn't need your kind of "hope." Not your kind of "change." That is purely secular. It has not worked. It will not work. It will never work. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. R U catching on yet?

All churches and their members must pray now. Not for more gun laws. Not for more security. Not for a better economy. Not for their favor artist to win the idol or the voice competitions. Pray for the change of heart, mind and soul of the USA to abandon its own view of being its own master and I will not serve. Pray for the USA to be depended again on Almighty God. Pray authentic hope in Almighty God is restored to the USA. Not the hope Almighty God exists. The hope of Almighty God can and will take care of us and our needs if we serve him alone and love our neighbor.

Only then will all the ills of society end. Don't believe me. The other is not working. Doing the same thing over and over again to expecting a different result is a great example of insanity. Pray. Pray now. Don't stop. What have you got to lose? Maybe your attachment to sin? Is that what you're really afraid of losing? (JMJ)
