To Primary Or Not To Primary.

It should be apparent to even the mildest-mannered, laid-back conservative that things just aren’t working the way they should if we had Congressional leadership. The cowardly bunch is literally afraid of its own shadow. If the Republican leadership can’t hack it, let the new young conservatives take over. They’ve already shown a willingness to buck the establishment leadership, a surprising but welcome indication that we, at least, had chosen well. It’s our own fault. We’re being victimized by our own success. We swept our candidates into office wholesale… and re-established the power of the old guard leadership. We’ve got a lot of eager, bright conservative people in Congress and there will be more soon. I think we need to tell the Republican leadership that this is the last chance. Wisconsin Senators Receive Death Threats

Dear Patriot,

Republican members of the Wisconsin State Senate received the following email threat late Wednesday following the Senate vote to end some collective bargaining rights and stop mandatory union membership by government workers. More concerning is the lack of coverage and outrage by the Main Street media and the White House. Members of the media were quick to blame the tea party movement for the tragedy in Arizona that left Congresswoman Gifford’s injured and several people dead. Serious threats coming from "their side" seem to be less important.

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your families will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

We want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen: I as well as many others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records.

We have all planned to assault you by arriving at your house and putting a nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn’t leave it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the message to you since you are so “high” on Koch and have decided that you are now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a democratic process. We take threats such as this very seriously. To the protester's credit, events in Wisconsin have been so far, largely peaceful. We can only pray that those responsible for these threats are arrested quickly and prosecuted. Lack of outrage by the Main Street media will only embolden extremists bent on using violence to get their way. The lone Republican on the San Jose (California) City Council, Pete Constant, wants to save the city $70,000 annually by performing his own secretarial work and not hiring an assistant to aid with the city’s $100 million budget deficit. Rather than thank him for acting fiscally responsible, the Confidential Employees Organization, a public sector union representing Council employees, filed a lawsuit demanding that he fill the position regardless of the city’s financial situation.

The president of the employees association, La Verne Washington said it is not Constant’s prerogative to create his own ”process and procedures,” which she says conflict with labor agreements between the city and the union.” She elaborated by saying, “This was a process the city designed well before Pete Constant got there.”

This issue underscores the problem with collective bargaining agreements for public sector unions. Contracts such as this have created hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer liabilities and hinder the ability of government agencies to make cuts when funding does not meet financial needs. In the end, it is the taxpayers who are expected to make up the difference, which explains the negative sentiments most Americans feel toward public unions.

We need more politicians like Pete Constant who are willing to make sacrifices for the benefit of those who elected him into office. The decision is now up to the California Labor Relations Board, and we can only hope they will make the right choice. We do not need unions using their political influence to continue the drain on taxpayer wallets. Please forward this email to your like minded friends to help spread the word. From Blogger Errol Phillips: Subject: Japan is not Haiti

Here is what to expect in the coming months out of the disaster that has affected Northeast Japan: How do I know? I was living just outside of Kobe when the monstrous jishin (earthquake) hit in January 1995 and virtually destroyed the center of a major Japanese City killing 6,600 people covering a 20 mile swath. I was right in the middle. Down the street from where I lived a 7 story apartment building ended up being 4 stories. My next door neighbor died from a collapsed roof. When the quake hit, I thought it was a bomb going off.

Here's what didn't happen:

There was no looting or breaking into food stores. There was no time for trying to blame anyone. There was no one cutting in the front of the line to get water. There were no calls to lawyers.

Here is what did happen:

The people in the Kobe Area were not waiting around for a U.S. Aircraft Carrier. The Military was deployed immediately to dig and search. The Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) were the early suppliers of medical supplies and food (They had the connections and the means to get the material to the folks. Within days Temporary housing was being constructed all over the Area. Within days portable showers and toilet facilities were set up all over the Area. Within days, supermarkets were opened and the queues stretched endlessly as they could only let a few people in the stores at a time. There was no anger, yelling, blaming, looting, cutting in front. Within hours clean-up began by everyone, students, teachers, seniors, yakuza, politicians. Everyone seemed to be contributing in some way.

As a foreigner, I was treated like everyone else.

Result:

By the time I left Japan 4 years later, I would say 90 % of the entire City of Kobe had been rebuilt and consider that New York has been unable to erect a couple of buildings at ground zero now going on 10 years. So like I said, Japan is not Haiti, nor New Orleans. They don't need us, that is not to say they would not be unappreciative of any assistance. Probably the best thing we can do is provide portable medical facilities and staffing if requested and search sniffing dogs.
