Tax and Spend Spells the End

At the end of this calendar year, the Bush tax cuts will expire. There are those who call these tax cuts the single largest cause of America’s structural deficit. These tax cuts are unaffordable. I disagree with the basic premise as these tax cuts are not the largest cause of our deficit…but the liberal free-spending congress currently residing in Washington. And it starts at the top.

After taking office in true Marxist fashion, the usurper immediately went on a spending spree, using the “redistribution of wealth” as his banner to dole out billions in taking over the auto industry, the banking industry, the Wall Street markets, and push thru an extremely unpopular takeover of the healthcare industry. The usurper has committed mine and your future earnings to pay for “his” welfare state programs for decades to come.

To pay for all this free spending we now face the expiration of Bush tax cuts. It’s the only area keeping the U.S. economy on minimum life support. The tax and spend party is salivating at the increase in taxes to fund other programs. The additional funds generated will fuel additional spending leaving the country in no better shape. In fact, the country will be in a crisis. Increasing taxes will push out those at the bottom of the taxable income pool barely hanging on as is. If they have no income, they can’t pay taxes.

If you can’t pay taxes, what has the increase in taxes gotten us? No more money than before the tax increase. With the usurper’s response to increase income and estate taxes, Pelosi floats a national sales tax at a time of high unemployment, increasing foreclosure rate, a flat job market. This will only intensify a flat economy. Peter Morici said it best; “Reckless, unproductive government spending, higher taxes and regulations accomplishes little but to raise costs, kill investment, drive jobs out of the country and destroy prosperity.”

The expiration of any tax cuts are the true “threat” to any recovery. Without the renewal of these tax cuts by congress, the effects will be far reaching. This economy cannot stand up to increased taxes with no dramatic increase in the job base to spur economic growth, thus increasing the tax base. It is as simple as that. Unemployment is at 9.5%, the loss of 8 million jobs not coming back has rippled thru every corner of this country. It is actually 15+% as it doesn’t account the permanent unemployed Americans giving up on looking for a job (it could be even higher).

With the usurper patting himself on the back, 70,000 jobs created in one month only to lose over 130,000 jobs is so far out of touch with the actual state of our country, anything the usurper says is basically ignored by the populace. Increasing taxes at this time will crush any movement forward in the economy as taxpayers retrench spending, employers retrench their hiring; reduce their current workforce to lower the taxes they will have to pay, and manufacturers move their facilities out of country to lower their tax base.

American taxpayers are tired of paying the free spending occurring for the past 18 months. Americans will not be saddled with the tax burden of free-wheeling spenders representing no one but themselves and the cherished seats they hold. The increasing government has contributed to the deficit but the usurper continues the blame game for his failed policies. An increase in taxes levied on the tax payer, the tax and spending will spell the end of any hope to economic recovery and financial stability for our country.
