Liberal former Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-NY), the very man who was responsible for writing our nation's tax laws, is trying to avoid owning up for the fact he wasn't paying his personal taxes while you and I were forced to pay the taxes he supported as the liberal Congressman from New York.

After decades in the House supporting liberal tax and spending schemes he thinks he can get away with it, despite the fact that last Thursday the House Ethics Committee officially took action to put him through a corruption trial before the House, the first in nearly a decade.

Late today word is leaking out that he is seeking a deal to stay in the House and avoid a full trial.

That's right, Rangel is "seeking a deal."

The New York Daily News reports that right now there are closed-door talks happening within Democrat offices on whether Rangel will accept a "wrist-slap deal" to avoid prosecution.

He was forced out as Ways and Means Chairman - the very committee that writes and controls our nation's tax laws - when media reported he failed to pay taxes on a home in the Dominican Republic, a hidden home outside the country.

Then as CNN and others discovered he also misused a rent-controlled apartment for political purposes and he allegedly preserved tax benefits for an oil-drilling company in exchange for donations to a project he supported at the City College of New York. ... now he is seeking a deal.
